Pretibial Myxedema can occur in both hypo / hyperthyroidism.
If patient has thyrotoxicosis + Pretibial Myxedema, then think of GRAVE'S DISEASE! this is absent in TMNG.

Hypothyroidism occurs in both sexes but females tend to ignore the hypothyroid symptoms and the disease gets worse day by day. Thus it is important that treatments for hypothyroidism like bovine thyroid should be initiated as early as possible.
